Gangs of New York / Nieuw Amsterdam Walking Tour (2 Hours)

With more than two hundred restaurants, numerous markets and bakeries, Chinatown is the densest ethnic neighborhood in New York and the largest Chinese neighborhood outside of Beijing. Touring through the Five Points area (did you see Gangs of New York?), we enter into the photo rich City Hall and City Hall Park arena with its architectural gems: the Tweed Courthouse, the Woolworth Building, and across to the Brooklyn Bridge. The magnificently renovated South Street Seaport sets the tone for early New York and its trade by sea. Now you’re really in the heart of Old New York. Starting from the Old Port, with its restored storefronts, museum, and tall ships, we head into the epicenter of the financial district and Wall Street. Touring by the iconic Trinity Church and graveyard, St. Paul’s Chapel, and the beloved photogenic bronze Charging Bull heroic sculpture, we are now in the heart of New York’s historic power and the finance that drives us. We pass by the Staten Island ferry, Fraunces Tavern, and the Battery, heading toward Ground Zero, with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island out in the Harbor. As the tour reaches its finale, the Liberty Tower rises from the ashes of Ground Zero giving new meaning to our love of freedom.
