Everyone know Sydney and its iconic harbor, but cross the Australian continent to tour in Perth and find a wealth of experiences for the curious traveler.
Perth is the largest city in the area, and is a great place to start tours of the great Australian outback. Within reach of the city you'll find a kangaroo sanctuary, a great place to come up close to the unique wildlife. Other popular day trips from Perth include the island Rottnest Island, where, depending on season, you'll see penguins, whales and dolphins off the coast.
Perth is a very big city, geographically, but public transport is well-developed, so touring the city is possible without a car. Bike tours are also a possibility – Perth has one of the best developed bicycle lane systems in all Australia. There are pristine beaches and untouched coast-lines to explore, or take a trip out to the wine district Swan Valley. Though not as famous as its competitors, Swan Valley has been steadily gaining recognition. The city itself has a great many attractions, and a day walking through the hip district Fremantle offers ample opportunities for shopping and dining.
